Sumitra Mahajan Biography


Sumitra Mahajan is an Indian politician who was the Chairman of the 16th Lok Sabha. He is from the Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2014, he was selected for the Lok Sabha for the eighth time, one of the three members of the Lok Sabha, and currently the longest serving a member. He represented the Indore constituency of Madhya Pradesh from 1989 to 2019. He worked for a time as an Union Minister. He remained minister for human resources, communication and petroleum departments from 2002 to 2004. He is the biggest and supermominal woman in the women members of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha. After Mira Kumar, he is the second woman to be selected as the Speaker. His birth anniversary at Usha and Moth Tosham Sathe at 12 April 1943 in Maharashtra. His marriage took place with Jayant Mahajan of Indore in January 29, 1965. He received postgraduate and LLB education from Indore's Devi Ahilyya University. Sumitra Mahajan is another female Lok Sabha speaker after Mr. Kumar. 72-year-old Sumitra Mahajan is a Lok Sabha MP from eight times. They come from Indore. They have worked long in the panel of the Chairman of the House. Apart from the Prime Minister, the other BJP leaders proposed their name, including Rajath Singh and Sushma Swaraj. Sumitra Mahajan calls 'Tai' with love and he is known for his kindness nature. Every party has their friends and fans.

Sumitra Mahajan nominated for Lok Sabha Speaker on June 5, 2014. On June 6, 2014, he was elected to the uncontested Lok Sabha. This is the first time that a MP of Bharatiya Janata Party Made Lok Sabha Speaker.
