Gulzarilal Khanda Biography
Shri Guljarilal Nanda was born on July 4, 1898 in Sialkot of Punjab. He received his education in Lahore, Agra and Allahabad. He acted as a research guide on labor related problems in Allahabad University (1920-1921) and became professor of economics in the National College (Mumbai) in 1921. This year they joined the non-cooperation movement. In 1922, he became Secretary of Ahmedabad Textile Labor Association in which he worked until 1946. He had to go to jail for Satyagraha in 1932 and then he remained in jail from 1942 to 1944. Shri Nanda was elected for the Bombay Legislative Assembly in 1937 and by 1937 to 1939, he was the Parliamentary Secretary (Labor and Excise duty) of the Bombay Government. Later, as the Labor Minister of the Bombay Government (from 1946 to 1950) he presented a labor dispute bill successfully in the state assembly. He served as a trustee in the Kasturba Memorial Trust, as a secretary in the Hindustan Labor Service Sangh and President in Bombay Housing Board. They are also members of the National Planning Committee. In the event of the National Labor Congress, he played an important role and later became its president. In 1947, he participated in the International Labor Conference in Geneva as a government representative. He worked on the 'The Freedom of Association Committee' appointed by the Conference and visited Sweden, France, Switzerland, Belgium and England so that they can study the status of labor and housing in those countries. In March 1950, he joined the Planning Commission as its vice president. In September next year, he became the Minister of Planning in the Central Government. Apart from this, he was also given charge of irrigation and power departments. He was chosen for the Lok Sabha from Mumbai in the general election of 1952 and again appointed as a plan, irrigation and electricity minister. He led the Indian delegation at the International Labor Conference held in Geneva in 1955, organized in Singapore in 1959. Mr. Nanda was elected to the Lok Sabha in the 1957 general elections and made the Union Minister of Labor and Employment and Planning. Later he was appointed the Vice President of the Planning Commission. He visited the German Federal Republic, Yugoslavia and Austria in 1959. In the general election of 1962, he was re-elected to the Lok Sabha from the Sabarkantha constituency of Gujarat. He started the Congress Forum for the socialist fight in 1962. He was the Minister of Labor and Employment in 1962 and 1963 and home from 1963 to 1966. After the death of Pandit Nehru, he took oath as Prime Minister of India on 27 May 1964. After the death of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri in Tashkent, he took oath as the Prime Minister on January 11, 1966.
Guljari Lal ji's political journey
In 1937-1939, he was a member of the Bombay Assembly, at this time he was concluded by the labor and housing ministry. Nanda ji passed the 'Workers Dispute Bill'. He was also made by the President of the Bombay Housing Board and Hindustan Labor Union. In 1947-1950, he was appointed the MLA. As a legislator, he did many commendable work. In 1947, he established 'Indian National Trade Union Congress'. Seeing the loyalty towards their work, they were called Delhi. They gave important role and worked for them. In 1947, in 1947, he was sent to Switzerland as the representation of India in 'International Majdur Samlene'. In order to learn the labor and residential system, they studied a lot. In 1950, after the country's consideration, he was made the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission. They have a lot of cooperation in India's Panch-Younday schemes. Jawaharlal Nehru was very impressed with his work. Nanda Ji minister was in the post of the cabinet minister and till 1951-1952, the scheme has been overwhelmed. By 1952-1955, the river contributed significant contribution to the project. In 1957-1967, Schai and Energy Department also accused. In 1963-1964, he satisfied the work of the Labor and Employment Department. They were elected members of the Lok Sabha in the first five general elections.
Caretaker prime minister

In 1964, after Nehru ji's Mruu, the Guljari was the only leader, this is the reason that he was made the proceedings Prime Minister. Guljari was the affair of Jawaharlal, both of them were working for a long time, Guljari Lal ji used to understand the work of Nehru ji well. In 1962 the war was over, at the time of Nehru's death, there was a lot of pressure on the post of the Prime Minister, despite this, Nanda ji had to handle this post. In 1966, Red Shahadur Shastri was made again after the death of Shastri. In 1965, the end of Pakistan's war was due to which the country was once again going through a difficult period. After the accidental death of Lal Bahadur Shashtri ji, Guljari Lal ji made the dignity of the country. During his tenure during his tenure, Nanda ji did not have any major decisions, during this time he worked very peacefully and sensitive. Guljari ji will not be wrong to say troubleshoot.
In 1997, he was honored with 'Bharat-Ratna' and 'Padmavabhushan'. Guljari Lal ji died on January 15, 1998 in his private residence in Delhi. They received long age of 100 years. This Shakes of simple and calm nature made a place in everyone's heart for lifelong.
